Over the years, I've written for magazines and newspapers on five continents, on every subject under the sun--from collecting baseball card wrappers to the shape of Japanese temple roofs. Lately, I've been working a lot at high latitudes--arctic and antarctic--and working on a project that involves travels in the senses.
I've won a Bronze at the Lowell Thomas Awards, a gold at the Northern Lights, been short-listed in Best American Travel Writing, reprinted in Best Traveler's Tales, and I've been in a lot of the big magazines--National Geographic Traveler, AARP, Budget Travel, Modern Bride, Arizona Highways--as well as many magazines you've likely never heard of.
The details matter most when you travel--the song on the radio is more important than the sunset over the beach, if you're really going to understand a place. The links below will take you to a few of my best.
